Thomas Bureau Intern

Patricia AndersonWhat were some lasting impressions that LCO and the staff have left you with?

The staff left lasting impressions. Their ability to share their knowledge so effortlessly and with patience. LCO left me with the knowledge that I can do a multitude of things and have the ability of learning a field that I had no previous knowledge of. The knowledge that Michael has is incredible. Take notes in what he says and put it to use. He says things for a reason, just look where it has taken him.

Do you think that LCO provided you with skills that will help you in PR as well as other fields? If so, please give some examples.

Yes, very much so. PR is not my field, but "reaching out" to people and securing contacts with various companies. As a business major, networking is key and this internship showed me so much about making connections. That’s what PR is all about right? Who you know? While at LCO, I learned valuable research skills and how to communicate effectively within a group.

How was the working environment at LCO during your internship at LCO?

It was great. The people were friendly and brought humor to such a professional environment. The staff at LCO made you feel like a legitimate part of the team and constantly was there to help. I enjoyed working closely with others on projects and different clients. Just make sure you know Bacons for Monique.
Did you feel that LCO tried to accommodate your needs with school and other activities?
Yes, LCO was very understanding of my schedule. They worked with me around my school schedule and were positive when family emergencies arose.

Would you recommend LCO to others for an Internship? Why or why not?

Yeah, it shows you how to work towards a goal. I am a fond believer of knowing the ins and outs of a company and to have experience in each field. So running errands and making copies may be tedious, but it was some of the best experience that I could have obtained. Knowing how things work and why will progress you further than your peers because you took that extra step.

On a Side Note:

When I was there Michael gave a speech at one of those Friday meetings about the history of the company. He mentioned his beginnings and that he had a rough start. He looked for people as interns and they would ask him, "What can you do for me?" He replied “I can give you a chance". I want to thank LCO for my chance. Since then I see every opportunity as a chance and looking what I can do, not necessarily what benefits I can reap from it. I would like to thank him and you as well Patricia for giving me this chance. I hope to take what you and the others at LCO have taught me and make something from it. I will be by in a couple of weeks with some squaw bread.
